Tim grew up riding his Huffy 10-speed on homemade trails on Cape Cod, before buying his first mountain bike and moving to Santa Cruz, California at age 20. Work and play have kept him bouncing around the west for the last three decades, spending a lot of time mountain biking, including the entirety of the Colorado Trail. Within a couple of months of arriving in Jericó, he realized that the experience would be a turning point. After returning to Colorado, he began to transition out of his job as a sociology professor and to focus his attention on the development of Colombia Bicycle Adventures. He and his wife, Lenore, split their time between Boulder, Colorado and Jericó, Colombia.
