Colombia Bicycle Adventures

El Grande (10 Days of Riding - 12 Days/11 Nights Total) – All pedaling times are estimates of actual time on the bikes and does not include rest/snack/lunch breaks. Actual times may be shorter or longer.

Day 1

  • Arrive in Medellín - Pickup at airport - Transfer to hotel

  • Dinner (not included/suggested restaurants near hotel)

  • Night in Medellín

 

Day 2

  • Breakfast at Hotel

  • Transfer in van to Jericó (3 hours)

  • Lunch in Jericó/Meet guides

  • Afternoon Ride or Hike (monkey viewing may be possible depending on conditions)

  • Dinner and night in Jericó

 

Day 3

  • Day long local ride with lunch stop (3-4 hours pedaling)

  • Option for waterfall hike or mountain top farm visit

  • Time to explore town/Adjust bikes/Pickup Last minute supplies

  • Dinner and night in Jericó

 

Day 4

  • Ride from Jericó to Jardín (3-5 hours total pedaling, 25 miles, 3300 feet of climbing/4000 of descent)

  • Afternoon in Jardin/Explore town/Visit Bird Reserve/River Swimming

 

Day 5

  • Ride from Jardín to Pueblo Viejo (4-6 hours pedaling, 30 miles, 5300 feet of climbing/4730 of descent)

  • Dinner and night in Pueblo Viejo

 

Day 6

  • Ride from Pueblo Viejo to Filadelfia (3-4 hours of pedaling, 29 miles, 3280 feet of climbing/4600 of descent)

  • Dinner and night in Filadelfia

 

Day 7

  • Ride from Filadelfia to Salamina (3-4 hours of pedaling, 26 miles, 3750 feet of climbing/3000 of descent)

  • Afternoon river hike option

  • Dinner and night in Salamina

 

Day 8

  • Ride from Salamina to Aguadas (4-6 hours of pedaling, 30 miles, 5100 feet of climbing/3900 of descent)

  • Dinner and night in Aguadas

 

Day 9

  • Ride from Aguadas to Tamesis (4-6 hours of pedaling, 43 miles, 4200 feet of climbing/6000 of descent)

  • Afternoon Hiking Options -Cerro Cristo Rey (The Peak of Jesus the King) OR Cascada Salto del Diablo (The Waterfall of the Jumping Devil)

  • Dinner and night in Tamesis

 

Day 10

  • Ride from Tamesis to Jericó (2-3 hours pedaling, 16 miles, 2500 feet of climbing/1440 of descent)

  • Options for morning hike and/or midday river swim

  • Final dinner/celebration and night in Jericó

 

Day 11

  • Breakfast in Jericó

  • Transfer to Medellín Airport (or we can help with arrangements to stay in Jericó or continue traveling by land in Colombia). See FAQ regarding other things to do in Jericó or other parts of Antioquia
